Varnish
Varnish can significantly improve the capabilities of your sites. Learn how to take advantage of its power.
Varnish is a data caching platform, which is occasionally called a caching HTTP reverse proxy. It’s a web app accelerator that can increase the speed of a site by up to 1000 percent, based on its content. Whenever a visitor opens any page on a site that uses Varnish, the platform caches the page and delivers it instead of the web server in case the visitor loads it again. In this way, the browser request from the visitor is not handled by the server and the web page will load tremendously faster, since the Varnish caching platform can serve content many times faster than any web server software. The result is a significantly faster loading site, which means a greatly improved browsing experience. In case any of the cached web pages is updated on the live website, the info that Varnish stores in its memory is updated too, so the site visitors will never end up seeing out-of-date data.

Varnish in Cloud Hosting
If you host your sites under a
cloud hosting account with us, you will be able to add Varnish with several clicks of the mouse via your Control Panel. The data caching platform is offered as an upgrade with all our plans and you can select how many websites will use it and the total storage space that will be available for the cached data. The two upgradeable features in the Control Panel’s Upgrades section are the number of instances and the amount of memory and they aren’t directly tied to each other, so you can choose whether you need a lot of memory for one large-scale website or less memory for several smaller ones. You can unleash the full potential of the Varnish caching platform in case the websites use a dedicated IP address. With the Control Panel, you can swiftly start/reboot/remove an instance, clear the cached data independently for each site that employs the Varnish platform or check an exhaustive system log file.

Varnish in Semi-dedicated Servers
Varnish is part of the basic service set that you’ll get when you decide to host your websites in a
semi-dedicated server account. You can configure it for any of your websites through our innovative Hepsia Control Panel. The default amount of memory that the Varnish platform can use to cache content is 64 megabytes, but if you decide that you want more, you can upgrade this memory from the Control Panel’s Upgrades section. You can also upgrade the Varnish instances, i.e. the number of the sites that can use this caching platform simultaneously. As these two things are not tied to each other, you can use a couple of sites with the default memory or you can get more memory in increments of 32 MB and use all of it for a single Internet site. Varnish performs best when you allocate a dedicated IP to the websites that utilize its power. Hepsia will provide you with a simple way of rebooting any instance. Also, you’ll be able to delete the cached contents with only one single mouse click.

Varnish in VPS Servers
The Varnish platform is included by default with all
VPS servers that we offer given that the virtual machine is ordered with the Hepsia Control Panel, so you can optimize the performance of your sites with just a couple of mouse clicks. The more powerful the plan, the more memory Varnish will have at its disposal, but even with a low-end package, the platform will be able to utilize several hundred megabytes, so even if you run a handful of websites, you’ll notice an enormous decrease in the overall server load and a much faster site load speed. The Varnish caching platform will need to work for a while as the visitors navigate the website and as soon as the site content has been cached, you will distinguish the effect. One of the pluses of employing Varnish is that a lower-end and less costly VPS package will accomplish the exact same job as a more high-priced one without the platform, so not only will your sites perform significantly better, but you will also save some cash.

Varnish in Dedicated Servers
You can employ Varnish in order to accelerate the loading speed of any website that is hosted on a
dedicated server with us when the Hepsia Control Panel is installed on it. Not only will you get the platform ready for use at no additional cost, but you will also exert full control over it via Hepsia’s user-friendly GUI. It will take only one mouse click to start or discontinue an instance or to delete the cache associated with any Internet site that’s using the Varnish platform and in case you’re more experienced, you can also see the platform’s system logs. Varnish comes with at least 3 gigabytes of memory for site content caching purposes, so even if you run an immense number of websites on your dedicated server and they all use the Varnish platform, the improvement in their overall performance will be distinguishable. You’ll simply need to wait for a while till Varnish caches whatever content the site visitors access on their end. The platform works best if the sites use a dedicated IP, but considering the fact that our servers include 3 cost-free IP addresses, you’ll have all that you need.
