A catch-all functionality that is enabled for a specific mailbox will permit you to receive email messages that are sent to addresses that do not actually exist. In other words, if you deactivate an email address and somebody still sends a message to it, or to any mistyped address under the same domain, you’ll get the message in the catch-all mailbox. Using this functionality implies that you won’t miss an email for any reason whatsoever, which could be essential in case you are running a business, for example. Since you may start receiving unsolicited bulk messages, you can use the catch-all functionality with email filters in order to receive only legitimate messages in your inbox. Just one mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be activated for a catch-all mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting
Configuring a catch-all email mailbox will be pretty easy in case you have a cloud hosting with us. You can activate this option through our powerful, albeit user-friendly Email Manager, which is part of the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you will manage your hosting account. You’ll see all the email addresses that you have set up listed alphabetically and on the right side of each one of them there will be a mini "Catch-all" icon, which will instantaneously notify you if a certain mailbox gets all the email messages associated with a given domain name or not. With one single click on the icon you can enable or disable the feature whenever you want. If there’s activated email forwarding or in case a different mailbox has already been configured as a catch-all one for a given domain, you’ll get a warning notification from our system. The latter will not disable/replace anything automatically or without your consent.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
The in-house built Hepsia Control Panel that comes with each semi-dedicated server package that we’re offering will allow you to create a catch-all e-mailbox without any difficulty even in case you don’t have much email/web hosting experience. All it takes to do that is to click on the catch-all icon, which will be next to each mailbox that you have created with your domain names in the Email Manager section of the hosting Control Panel. As you can have only one single mailbox with this feature per domain name, our system will let you know if you’ve already set up a different catch-all mailbox or if the one that you’d like to use has email forwarding activated. If you reach the decision that you do not need the feature any longer, you can disable it by clicking again on the same icon. The Email Manager section will also permit you to see your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
